This was stated on October 26 during a weekly briefing by official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, when asked to comment on the fact that the Russian Ambassador was summoned to the Armenian Foreign Ministry on October 24 after the broadcast of a scandalous TV program on the the Russian Federal TV "Channel One Russia" about the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.
"In turn, the charge d'affaires ad interim of the Armenian Embassy in Moscow was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry. His attention was drawn to the most odious publications addressed to the Russian leadership, diplomats and peacekeepers, who are risking their lives. They pointed out the unacceptability of the ongoing unbridled anti-Russian campaign in the information space republic. I am sure the Armenian side understands what we are talking about," Zakharova noted.
Referring to the media reports that Russia rejected the proposals of Gurgen Arsenyan, a MP from the Civil Contract party, for the post of RA Ambassador to the Russian Federation, she noted that such issues are not raised externally and are not discussed in the media.
"Agreman is a preliminary consent, which is given or not given by the party and is decided in a confidential manner for each candidacy of the corresponding representative," she summed up.
