ArmInfo. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan again called for implementing the idea of a "crossroads of peace through such a useful diplomatic format as 3+3 (Armenia-Azerbaijan- Georgia / Russia, Turkey, Iran, ed. note).
Answering questions from the Armenian parliamentarians, Mirzoyan emphasized that Armenia is interested in developing relations with all its neighbors, however, there are no diplomatic relations with two of these four neighbors for well-known, including historical reasons, and the new format in this vein will allow us to begin the process of establishing them. In this regard, Mirzoyan noted his recent meetings with the foreign ministers of Turkey and Azerbaijan in Tehran at a meeting within this format.
In this regard, Mirzoyan noted the importance of not only a diplomatic settlement of relations with the two neighbors, but also the implementation of the goals of economic diplomacy. He noted the need to develop transport communications, logistics, as well as begin a dialogue in the field of culture and other areas. "This is an interesting format, but of course we will not limit ourselves to it," Mirzoyan noted, emphasizing the importance of developing relations with Russia, with which there is a large contractual framework, the United States, the countries of the European Union, and Canada, which opened its diplomatic mission in Armenia today.
When asked that Armenia recently received "new peace proposals" from Azerbaijan, Mirzoyan noted that this is incorrect information, the proposals were received earlier and today it is up to Armenia, which must send its proposals. Regarding the text of the peace treaty itself, Mirzoyan noted that he would like to express "restrained optimism."
He also expressed hope that it will be possible to get the consent of the leader of Azerbaijan for the upcoming meetings.
