Armenian MP alerts international colleagues on urgent need for  safeguarding of cultural heritage in Artsakh

ArmInfo.Armenian MP Taguhi Tovmasyan has made the following statement: 

I have once again alerted my international colleagues about the  urgent need for the regulation of property rights of Artsakh  Armenians and the safeguarding of cultural heritage in Artsakh.

After the illegal occupation of the Republic of Artsakh by  Azerbaijan, the Armenians of Artsakh are deprived not only of the  right to live freely and safely in their historical Homeland, but  also to manage their immovable and movable property, to preserve  their spiritual, historical and cultural heritage.

I have urged my international colleagues to undertake effective  measures within the framework of their mandate:

to ensure the realization of the Right to Property of Artsakh  Armenians;

to give the latter the opportunity to freely manage their property  (immovable, movable, animals);

in case of illegal disposal of the property belonging to the people  of Artsakh by Azerbaijan, to demand compensation;

to contribute to the preservation of cultural and religious heritage  in Artsakh, where there are more than 10 thousand monuments. As the  Russian peacekeepers currently in Artsakh, the international  observers of the United Nations (I have sent letters to my  international colleagues about the need for their deployment in  Artsakh, and a number of international actors often speak about its  importance) must prevent the repetition of the criminal scenario of  the desecration and destruction of the Holy All Savior Ghazanchetsots  Church in Shushi and other Armenian religious structures.

Both recently (https://bitly.ws/XL9p) and in the past, I have  repeatedly raised these issues with my international colleagues in  different formats. I hope that they will get their proper solution,  towards which my daily efforts will continue.
