ArmInfo. The aid provided by the European Union to Armenia was mainly limited to supporting the implementation of reform programs. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Paruyr Hovhannisyan told reporters on October 18, commenting on the statement by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, made in the European Parliament, that Yerevan is ready to develop cooperation with the EU as much as Europe is ready for it.
According to the Deputy Minister, within the framework of the Comprehensive and Extended Partnership Agreement, the EU support is in the form of the development of democracy, respect for human rights, economic transformations, and reforms. In this context, the EU is one of the most important partners of Armenia. As the deputy minister noted, Pashinyan's message only confirms the policy of the Armenian authorities to develop and deepen relations with both the EU and its states.
Hovhannisyan emphasized that he is not yet familiar with the reaction of the Russian side, especially considering that we are talking about an anonymous source who today sharply criticized the speech of the Armenian prime minister in the European Parliament. "I will refrain from commenting on the statement of the anonymous source. If you followed the Prime Minister's speech, you could make sure that there is nothing sensational in it. No country was mentioned in relation to the allies that the Prime Minister spoke about. As for the Russian peacekeepers, of course, our disappointment in this matter is more than obvious; their inaction has been discussed many times," the deputy minister emphasized.
