ArmInfo. As of today, of the 60 people detained during the anti-government protests on September 19-20, 37 citizens are in criminal correctional institutions in Armenia. Secretary of the opposition <Armenia> faction of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Artsvik Minasyan told reporters on October 18.
According to him, when examining the criminal cases against them, it becomes obvious that there is no basis for arrest. the investigation and the courts make decisions based solely on the testimony of the police officers, whose actions have been recognized as disproportionate by international institutions. At the same time, there is practically no recorded evidence of their involvement in the commission of the offense. "The authorities want to show at any cost that there is no reception against them, and they are ready to cross all the boundaries of what is permitted using any method so that Nikol's (RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan- ed. note) seat is not in danger," the oppositionist noted.
He added that yesterday's speech by the prime minister in the European Parliament only speaks of the preservation of his seat. "He does not want to understand that such behavior cannot so infringe on the dignity of the people. With his attitude and his statements, he only disgraces our statehood and our people," Minasyan noted, adding that all appeals from the opposition forces to international institutions remained unanswered. "These institutions essentially want Pashinyan to fulfill all the instructions of the geopolitical centers that are under the influence of the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem," Minasyan said.
