ArmInfo. The Russian Foreign Ministry spoke about Russian comprehensive assistance to Armenia and the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh.
The department's statement notes that Russia continues consistent efforts to provide comprehensive assistance to Armenia and the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh.
"In response to an appeal from the Armenian leadership, Russia began supplying the oil products needed by the republic. We are talking about 15 thousand tons of gasoline and 20 thousand tons of diesel fuel. As it became known from the partners' request, the situation in this area in Armenia is not easy. The country has almost reached the balance sheet approved for the current year. The autumn-winter period is ahead. Russia's support will be very timely and useful," the message says.
At the same time, it is emphasized that "despite the introduction on September 21 by the Government of the Russian Federation of a temporary ban on the export of commercial gasoline and diesel fuel from our country, the Russian side met the allies halfway within the framework of the corresponding intergovernmental agreement signed in December 2013."
"In addition to assistance through the Russian-Armenian Center for Humanitarian Response, taking into account the briefing of the Armenian Foreign Ministry on October 2, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations took into consideration the request of its partners regarding the provision of humanitarian aid to the Karabakh Armenians in the near, medium and long term. Together with Rosrezerv, a primary list of items that could be sent to the republic in the coming days has already been formed.
At the final stage - the direction of humanitarian aid by such domestic humanitarian organizations as the Russian Humanitarian Mission, foundations named after Elizaveta Glinka Doctor Liza and Hurry To Do Good!, the cargo will be delivered to the republic by Russian Aerospace Forces," Moscow added.
It is also reported that Russian diplomats led by Ambassador Sergei Kopyrkin will visit the Syunik region next week to identify immediate needs with regional authorities. This work will continue in other regions as well where there are displaced people.
