ArmInfo. Most of the forcibly displaced people from Nagorno- Karabakh arrived in Syunik and Vaiots Dzor, Armenia's Minister of Territorial Administration Gnel Sanosyan told Armenia's Public TV.
According to him, two humanitarian stations operated in the cities of Goris and Vayk to receive displaced persons, where the main process was organized. From there, refugees were redistributed to various regions of the country. Thus, both stations no longer have the functions that were assigned to them. Of the over 100 thousand displaced people, 47,300 thousand, as of 15:00 October 1, with the assistance of the government and local self-determination bodies, were provided with temporary housing - in hostels and hotels. This process is actively ongoing, and this number is growing hourly. "The government intends to satisfy all the needs of our compatriots who need housing," the minister said, adding that according to the current situation, there are practically no families left who need it. Sanosyan pointed out the complexity of the problem, which was solved within 2-3 days, which was very difficult to do.
In turn, the head of the RA Migration and Citizenship Service Armen Ghazaryan noted that out of the total number of arrived migrants, 43 thousand are female and 41 thousand are male. The number of people over 65 years old is 10 thousand, and children - 26 thousand. All data is summarized and provided to departments for making further decisions. "There is a lot of work ahead to decide on further steps related to demographics," which was very difficult to decide within 2-3 days.
