ArmInfo. At a meeting on September 28, the Central Election Commission of Armenia approved the lists of political forces that entered the Council of Elders of Yerevan.
According to the press service of the commission, the Central Election Commission satisfied the requests for self-recusal from representatives of the Civil Contract party Vahagn Hayrapetyan, Margarita Khachatryan and Ruzanna Yeremyan. The commission also approved the number of party mandates. According to the election results, the ruling Civil Contract party in Armenia received 24 mandates, the National Progress party - 14, the Mother Armenia bloc - 12, the Republic party - 8, the Public Voice party - 7.
The Central Election Commission also reported absence of applications demanding recognition of the elections as invalid.
Earlier today the Mother Armenia bloc issued a statement in which it proposed holding new elections, since the opposition does not have a consensus on the candidacy for mayor of Yerevan.
