ArmInfo. Armenia is acting extremely hostile towards Russia when it plans to accede to the Rome Statute. Russian President Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated.
"Armenia knows very well that we are not parties (to the Rome Statute), and Armenia is well aware of the absolutely difficult decision taken on the basis of this statute. We know that this is very well known in Yerevan," Peskov said.
The Kremlin also hopes, Peskov clarified, that Armenia's ratification of the Rome Statute will not negatively affect relations between Moscow and Yerevan.
Earlier today, the RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs issued a positive conclusion on the Rome Statute submitted for ratification. Now the issue will be discussed at the plenary session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
In addition, today, on September 28, the Armenia's Representative on International Legal Affairs Yeghishe Kirakosyan, informed that Yerevan proposed to Moscow to sign a bilateral agreement to legally resolve the issue of the Rome Statute, which serves as the fundamental document of the International Criminal Court (ICC).
