ArmInfo.'Storyteller'! What can I say? This could only be done with a rich imagination. This was stated by official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, commenting on the statements of French President Emmanuel Macron, who stated that Russia is an accomplice of Azerbaijan, which in turn could threaten the territorial integrity of Armenia.
At the same time, she added that it is generally unclear what we are talking about. "About territorial integrity: perhaps the President of France knows something that apparently no one else knows. I would like to understand what he means, maybe we don't know something. But I would like to warn you, no one knows about this, except Macron or those who wrote this to him. This is another hypocritical attempt. With such statements, he reveals the mechanics of what is happening. That is, we said before that officials in Yerevan are trying to shift responsibility for their actions onto others, and now we see who their pushed for this. Here is the President of France, who managed to use some strange vocabulary about a threat to territorial integrity, without defining what exactly he means, and then blame Russia," said the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
In this vein, she added that in exactly the same way, Moscow sees how they encouraged official Yerevan to take certain steps, shifting responsibility to Russia or anyone else.
"We know these techniques of the French authorities well from the example of African countries," she said.
"This is incitement," Zakharova said. According to her, the engagement of French representatives in the process of Armenian-Azerbaijani normalization is obvious, when they acted not from the position of a mediator who pursues the goal of returning peace to the region, but exclusively their own political interests. On September 24, in one of his interviews, French leader Emmanuel Macron accused Russia of supporting Azerbaijan in aggression against Artsakh.
"Russia is now an accomplice of Azerbaijan, while Baku's ally Turkey has always been a supporter of its actions. Here are the risks now. France will support the Armenian people, in accordance with international law," he said, after Azerbaijan's occupation of Artsakh.
