ArmInfo. We see that the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh remains difficult, to put it mildly. Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated on September 27 during a weekly briefing, referring to the humanitarian situation in the NKR.
"First of all, I would like to express my condolences to the families and friends of those killed in an explosion at a fuel and lubricant depot near Stepanakert on September 25. We wish a speedy recovery to all those injured," she said, adding that Russian peacekeepers took an active part in extinguishing the fire, as well as in providing emergency medical care at the scene.
"120 residents of Nagorno-Karabakh, seriously wounded as a result of this tragic incident, were evacuated by RPC helicopters to the territory of Armenia in a specialized hospital," Zakharova said. At the same time, she emphasized that Russia will continue to make every effort to ensure the normal functioning of the population. According to her, the main stabilizing mechanism in the region remains the Russian peacekeeping contingent, which selflessly fulfills its duty.
