ArmInfo.The Canadian government has named Andrew Turner as ambassador to Armenia. He will arrive in Yerevan in October.
Andrew Turner is a career diplomat, The Canadian Press reports. Turner served in Canadian diplomatic missions in Saudi Arabia (2004-2007), Syria (2011-2012), Afghanistan (2013-2015), Pakistan (2015-2017) and Iraq (2017-2019). He most recently served in the Canadian Foreign Ministry's Eastern Europe and Eurasia Directorate.
A month earlier, Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly announced that she planned to visit Armenia in September and take part in the official opening ceremony of the Canadian diplomatic mission in Yerevan.
