ArmInfo.President of the Republic of Artsakh Samvel Shahramanyan today held a working meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, gave a number of recommendations and instructions on organizing the safe movement of citizens to Armenia, as well as the internal security of the country. Considering the current situation and the large flow of people in private vehicles to the Republic of Armenia, this caused traffic jams. This is stated in a statement from the Office of the President of Artsakh.
"For this reason, we urge: not to panic and not to rush, so as not to overload the corridor connecting Artsakh with Armenia. The resettlement of the population is carried out in stages, for which no deadlines have been established. The process will continue until the transportation of citizens wishing to go is fully ensured to Armenia.
The State Emergency Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs continues its mission, carrying out search and rescue operations of the remains of fallen servicemen and civilians, as well as our compatriots whose whereabouts are still unknown.
The hotline of the operational headquarters is 047 957551," the message reads.
Earlier, the Artsakh Informationm Center reported that, according to the agreement reached, no resettlement dates have been established, but first of all, citizens who were evacuated as a result of hostilities, were left homeless and want to move to the Republic of Armenia are being resettled. "The Artsakh authorities will continue to remain in their places and exercise public administration until they fully ensure the process of resettlement of citizens wishing to leave for Armenia. Due to the congestion of the Stepanakert-Goris highway and traffic jams, it is currently not possible to organize the transportation of seriously and extremely seriously wounded people, the import of necessary medical goods and humanitarian aid.
At the same time, in order to get fuel, citizens create large traffic jams in areas near gas stations, paralyzing traffic and the normal life of the city.
Citizens wishing to move to the Republic of Armenia will be provided with free fuel at 5 gas stations in Stepanakert today from 14:00," the Information Headquarters summarized.
Let us note that as of 6 a.m., 2906 Artsakh residents forcibly displaced as a result of enemy aggression have already arrived in Armenia. They all gather in Goris for registration, and then they will be moved throughout Armenia.
