ArmInfo. The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has fully satisfied the request of the Armenian government and applied an interim measure against Azerbaijan, the office of Armenia's representative for international legal affairs reported.
It said taking into account the fact that the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh is fraught with a serious risk of violation of the rights guaranteed by the Convention (on human rights - ed.), and despite the agreement on ceasefire reached on September 20 this year, on September 22 this year the ECHR, having satisfied the request of the Armenian government, applied an interim measure against Azerbaijan.
In particular, the ECHR obliged Azerbaijan to refrain from any action that could lead to a violation of the rights guaranteed by Articles 2 (right to life) and 3 (prohibition of torture) of the Convention.
