According to the press service of the Human Rights Defender, employees of the office held separate conversations with the citizens who were detained, became familiar with the provision of their rights in police departments, and studied the grounds for detention.
In connection with the situation, the Defender once again called on law enforcement officers to act within the law and use proportionate force against demonstrators.
She also called on rally participants to exercise restraint and comply with the requirements established by law. "The peaceful nature of the meeting must be guaranteed," she said.

Earlier in the morning, 26 participants in disobedience actions had already been detained. At the same time, video recordings of law enforcement officers using disproportionate force against protesters are already being circulated. Leader of the "Mother Armenia" party Andranik Tevanyan was also detained.
