ArmInfo.Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan clarified Yerevan's position regarding the possible displacement of residents of Nagorno-Karabakh to the Republic of Armenia.
"The evacuation of Armenians from Nagorno Karabakh is possible only if the current situation continues and their residence there becomes impossible," Pashinyan said on September 22 at a government meeting. "We are ready and continue preparations. This is a coordinated position with our partners in Nagorno- Karabakh: Our plan is not to prevent the emigration of Armenians from Nagorno Karabakh. We must do everything through our actions so that our compatriots, residents of Nagorno-Karabakh, have the opportunity to live in their homes without fear, with dignity and safety," Pashinyan said. The key focus of the discussion at the UN Security Council meeting, around which, according to the Prime Minister, there was a consensus, was precisely this.
At the same time, according to Pashinyan, a hybrid war is being waged against Armenia, primarily in the information field. In the context of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, one should be as careful as possible and be in constant contact with society so that citizens have confidence in official information, he noted. He recalled his yesterday's statement about the absence of a direct threat to the civilian population of NK. Today, as he pointed out, this assessment is slightly more positive. However, due to the dynamics of the situation, it may change. In addition, Pashinyan noted, this does not mean that individual incidents cannot take place. This is a general situation.
"We must continue active cooperation with the media so that people receive the correct information," Nikol Pashinyan said.
