ArmInfo.Andranik Tevanyan, leader of the opposition bloc Mother Armenia, has announced a nationwide strike and a mass rally in central Yerevan.
In his video message, he noted that the situation in Artsakh continues to be extremely difficult. Meanwhile, it is there, in Artsakh, that the fate of Armenia is being decided. "In this situation, there is only one opportunity to influence the situation in both Armenian republics. Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan officially and long ago washed his hands of Artsakh, abandoning it. And today what we see is the result of his policy. The only option "The way to protect Artsakh and become the masters of Armenia is to implement the process of changing power in the country and forming a new government that will be able to organize the defense of Artsakh," the oppositionist emphasized.
He added that the future of Armenia and Artsakh is in the hands of the Armenian people. "We all need to stand up, despite the many differences we have, to protect the safety of our country and our children. The key to success must be the unity of the people and our willingness to do so. Artsakh is facing the threat of its fall, and if we cannot protect it, the next one will be Syunik, after which the entire Sevan region, and finally Yerevan. Today the capital of Artsakh, Stepanakert, is being bombed, and tomorrow it could be Yerevan," Tevanyan stressed.
He added that the people, in unison, both in the capital and in the regions, must stand on their feet. It is necessary to organize a nationwide strike, which should not extend to facilities of vital importance - pharmacies, hospitals and a number of other facilities, but workers in other areas must have their say," said the leader of the bloc, calling on citizens to gather today at 19.00 on Republic Square and form a united front force Pashinyan to resign. "As long as he is in power, Armenia has no chance to survive as a state and defend itself. It is obvious that as a result of Pashinyan's policy, we are left alone in front of Turkey and Azerbaijan," he stated.
