Protests near Armenian government, UN office and Russian embassy over  hostilities in Artsakh

ArmInfo.Protests are taking place near the building of the Armenian government, the UN  office and the Russian Embassy in connection with the outbreak of Azerbaijan's military aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh.

Citizens demand that the situation be resolved a minute earlier. At  the government building, those gathered are chanting "Nikol the  traitor", "Shame", etc. A certain part of those gathered are the  people of Artsakh, who currently do not know anything about the fate  of their relatives. Those gathered are confident that if the current  government remains in power, not only Artsakh, but also Armenia will  not exist. They call on all citizens, including the clergy, to join  their movement. "Our fate is being decided today," the protesters  noted. Citizens completely blocked Republic Square.

A rally was held at the Russian Embassy with a demand to protect the  civilian population of Artsakh, given the fact that a Russian  peacekeeping contingent is deployed there and is not carrying out its  main mission.  "Our main demand is that the peacekeepers began to act  and stop what is happening in Artsakh," they noted.

One of the leaders of the Country to Live party, Mane Tandilyan, was  present at the Russian diplomatic corps along with the citizens. She  noted that a little earlier they were at the UN building in Armenia,  with the only requirement - to introduce UN peacekeeping forces to  resolve the situation. <You can't hesitate for a minute. Because the  UN Charter provides for such actions. Today, ethnic cleansing and  genocide are being carried out in Artsakh, what else are they waiting  for?> the parliamentarian asked.

Today the Azerbaijani Armed Forces opened fire along the entire line  of contact with units of the Artsakh Autonomous Region. In  particular, the Artsakh Defense Army stated that on September 19, at  about 13:00, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces violated the ceasefire  along the entire line of contact, launching missile and artillery  strikes.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan reported: "Baku has  begun local anti-terrorist measures in order to restore the  constitutional order. The command of the Russian peacekeeping  contingent and the leadership of the Joint Turkish-Russian Monitoring  Center were informed about the measures taken>.
