Russia to open Consulate General in Armenian`s Kapan

ArmInfo. Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova congratulated Armenia on Independence Day.

During the weekly briefing on September 19, she stated that on  September 21, RA celebrates the 32nd anniversary of independence. "We  are convinced that the development of multifaceted cooperation  between Moscow and Yerevan meets the fundamental interests of the  peoples of the two countries. We advocate strengthening mutual  understanding on the main issues of the bilateral and regional  agenda, as well as strengthening foreign policy coordination both on  international platforms and within the framework of general  integration associations. We wish the citizens of the ally Armenia,  including the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the  Republic, good health, prosperity and success," Zakharova said. At  the same time, she added that confirmation of the seriousness of the  Russian attitude and the sincerity of its approach to developing  diverse mutually beneficial relations with its CSTO ally, as well as  strengthening the humanitarian, socio-economic presence, including in  the south of Armenia, is the opening of the Russian Consulate in this  strategically important region. According to her, this is just one  example of such intentions.

<At the beginning of September, an advanced group of Russian  diplomats arrived in the administrative center of the Syunik region,  Kapan, to prepare for the opening of the Consulate General. With the  establishment of a new hub, it will become easier to establish  interregional contacts, strengthen educational and cultural  interaction, and expand the opportunities for local businesses to  establish cooperation with Russian partners," the diplomat said.

According to her, Russian citizens living in the region will receive  full and unhindered access to government services. She added that  employees of the Russian Foreign Ministry have already begun  preparations for an open seminar on consular issues, and everyone  will be able to receive comprehensive consultations on topics that  interest them. Zakharova emphasized that the place and time will be  announced through the Russian Embassy in Yerevan.
