ArmInfo. Having failed to achieve the desired result following the elections to the Council of Elders of Yerevan, the Armenian authorities are preparing a "dirty operation". The leader of the "Mother Armenia" bloc, former deputy of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Andrannik Tevanyan stated this in his video message.
According to him, today the country's authorities intend to conduct a recount of votes in all polling stations and ensure the required number of votes. "Those 100 votes, in the absence of which they lost, the authorities want to falsify the election results, taking away one mandate from our people," Tevanyan said.
He once again expressed gratitude to the voters who came to the polling stations and showed the country's ruling party, the Civil Contract, its place on the political stage of the republic. <Thus, voters clearly stated the lack of public trust in Nikol Pashinyan (RA Prime Minister - ed.). I do not blame those who did not come to the elections, since everyone has their own motivation, but, regardless of who took part in the elections and who did not participate in them, if today Nikolovites suddenly decide to appropriate part of the electorate for themselves, thereby stealing They need one mandate so much, I urge everyone to take to the streets and become masters of their voice. I call on all socio-political forces to be prepared to take to the streets if the "Civil Contract" suddenly decides to brazenly falsify the election results. They are preparing to do this in the most obvious way," Tevanyan said.
He added that the authorities, seeing that they could not otherwise solve the problem that had arisen for them, decided to carry out fraud by recounting the votes. Tevanyan noted that the bloc's proxies will be present at the vote recount process, but the people must be ready to take to the streets. <Today a very important issue is being decided, and if there really are attempts to falsify the election results, we will all have to fight decisively. I warn <Civil Contract> not to dare to do this. Responsibility for everything they are going to do will rest entirely with them. They are starting to lose power, and we will be consistent in this matter," noted the former deputy of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
According to the voting results received from all 475 polling stations, the ruling Civil Contract party and the leader of its list, Vice Mayor Tigran Avinyan, are in the lead, with 32.57% of voters voting for them. In second place with 18.89% of the vote is the National Progress party, led by the former mayor of Yerevan Hayk Marutyan. The "Mother Armenia" bloc, led by former deputy of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Andranik Tevanyan, closes the top three. According to preliminary data, the bloc receives 15.43% of the votes.
