ArmInfo.The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Armenia has reported the preliminary results of the elections to the Yerevan City Council.
The ruling party Civil Contract is the leader, with its candidate Tigran Avinyan getting 32.57% of votes. Hayk Marutyan, the second leading candidate, received 18.89% of votes, followed by Andranik Tevanyan, a member of the Mother Armenia bloc (15.43%).
The votes received by other political forces are as follows:
Public Voice, 9.68%
Just Armenia, 1.12%
Victory, 1.71%
Power of Homeland, 0.74%
European Party of Armenia, 1.11%
For Social Justice party, 0.34%
Republic Party, 11.32%
United Armenia party, 0.55%
Prosperous Armenia, 1.8%
Democratic Consolidation, 1.01%
Country for Life, 3.64%
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) said that as of closing of polls at 8 p.m., turnout was 28.5 percent, representing 234,553 voters out of 824,250 eligible.
