ArmInfo. There are forces that clearly hope that it will be possible to cause instability or a governance crisis in Armenia in the context of the Yerevan Council of Elders elections. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated on September 11 in an interview with Public Television. "Unfortunately, this can be seen from the emphasis and goals of a number of forces participating in the elections," he said.
In response to the remark that these forces are dividing the political field into three parts - pro-Western, pro-Russian and one person, Hayk Marityan, declares that he continues the revolutionary line, since the authorities have deviated from it, Pashinyan said: "For me this is a strange claim and statement because I have never heard Hayk Marutyan say that we deviated from the revolutionary path. After leaving the post of mayor, Hayk Marutyan appeared on stage and made just such statements. But I think that for the first time in his stage career Hayk Marutyan is engaged in humor of the political genre and does not coordinate its content with the objects and heroes of this humor. This indicates that Armenia did not deviate from revolutionary values, otherwise, as before, our partners would have received permission in advance from the authorities, oligarchs and others to use humor on stage>.
Pashinyan also touched upon Marutyan's assertion that corruption still exists, which he warned about in government offices for two years. <This is absolutely untrue, since there was never such a conversation with Marutyan, and he should have had a similar conversation with me, since it was my support that allowed him to become a candidate in the elections of the mayor of Yerevan, and he received this support from me, expressing his readiness to become a member of the "Civil Contract" party and assured of his intention to strengthen the team. But to this day I have not heard from him any explanation for the fact that we have deviated from the values of the revolution.
In addition, the prime minister noted, during the period when the revolution took place and the ruling team did not have any problems, in practice Hayk Marutyan did everything to be closer, sometimes closer than the closest political team, and to record this closeness, write a statement about joining the party. <I fully trusted his desire to be a close teammate, contrary to our other teammates who said that he was coming as a guest performer' , and if the situation changed, He will act according to the old scenario. I must say that, purely as a human being, I now find it difficult to look into the eyes of many of my colleagues who at one time gave this warning. It turned out that this political friendship, for which Hayk Marutyan did everything, was a friendship for good times. While the logic was that real friendship is only needed to overcome the difficulties of bad times. However, it turned out that at the first difficulty, just as easily Hayk Marutyan entered into the "Civil Contract", he just as easily wrote a statement about leaving it. For me, this is not so much a political situation as a human one, and there really is a feeling of deep regret about this situation," said Nikol Pashinyan.
The head of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Chairman of the Board of the "Civil Contract" noted that on September 15 they plan to hold a march and rally in which the entire political team will take part. The Prime Minister is also scheduled to speak during the rally.
