Opposition MP demands recusal of judge hearing case on Speaker`s  claim

ArmInfo. Chaired by Judge Arshak Petrosyan, the fourth hearing was held in the Court of General  Jurisdiction of Yerevan on the claim of Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan against MP from the "I Have Honor" opposition faction Anna Mkrtchyan.

Like previous hearings, the hearing was held behind closed doors  because the plaintiffs objected to being filmed. The judge satisfied  this request.

During the hearing, the defendant's side demanded the recusal of  judge Arshak Petrosyan. According to Anna Mkrtchyan, the judge cannot  consider the case impartially, since he has a biased attitude towards  it.  As at previous hearings, the Speaker of the National Assembly  was not present at the meeting.  The court's decision on the appeal  will be published on September 13 at 2:00 p.m..

RA NA Speaker Alen Simonyan demands that Anna Mkrtchyan compensate  the damage caused to his honor and dignity in the amount of 500  thousand drams, as well as publish an apology and refutation.  The  reason for the lawsuit was statements made by Mkrtchyan during a live  broadcast on Facebook.
