ArmInfo.Due to the inhumane blockade of the Latin Corridor, 120 thousand civilians of Nagorno-Karabakh are on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe, Anna Hakobyan, spouse of Armenia's Premier Nikol Pashinyan, stated at the Third Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen "Mental Health: Resilience and Vulnerability of the Future."
"30 thousand children of Nagorno-Karabakh suffer from malnutrition and food shortages and are forced to stand in queues to purchase food in minimal quantities. In these crowded queues, cases of fainting have become more frequent, which is directly related to the overstrained mental state of the residents of Nagorno-Karabakh," Hakobyan noted. 30 thousand children are deprived of their inalienable rights, such as the right to food, health and education, she added.
In addition, 2,000 pregnant women do not have at least basic access to medical care. "Only a blocked mind can fail to notice the difficulties faced by innocent people due to the blocking of the road connecting Nagorno-Karabakh with Armenia and the outside world," Mrs Hakobyan said.
Every life is precious, and it is necessary to find new ways and tools in order to avoid war.
"In Kyiv I had warm and direct communication with the first ladies of the Czech Republic, Estonia, Serbia, Ukraine, Lithuania and the gentlemen of Denmark, Slovenia and Slovakia. During the summit, I spoke about peace, about the legacy of a better world to future generations. I raised the issue of violation of the rights and inhumane living conditions of 30 thousand Armenian children as a result of the blockade of the Lachin corridor," Mrs Hakobyan wrote on her Facebook account.
