ArmInfo. The time has come for a national mobilization, former head of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia David Ananyan wrote on social media. Opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan, in turn, notes that there are large-scale movements in different directions of the border line and, at the same time, expresses doubts about the ability of the authorities to manage these risks.
"Over the past two days, the flow of information presented by various users, political scientists, analysts, as well as military experts on social networks related to the accumulation of military equipment by Azerbaijan on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border (in areas in Vayots Dzor, Gegharkunik and Syunik regions) has increased.
At the same time, the Azerbaijani media is flooded with propaganda materials and rhetoric about the launch of new military operations against Armenia.
It seems that we ourselves, through our indifference, short-sightedness and incompetence, have created such a "favorable" moment that it seems that the likelihood of a large-scale war against Armenia from Azerbaijan and Turkey is quite high (if not inevitable).
The government is again busy with nothing... Elections to the Council of Elders of Yerevan, the implementation of steps leading to a conspiratorial and deliberate severance of relations with a strategic ally (ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, interviews with international media, short-sighted statements by high-ranking officials in the public space or during the election campaign mayor, etc.).
The opposition, for its part, seems to be preparing another attempt at consolidation, making calculations... Gentlemen, how long have you been calculating?
Maybe now it's time for all of us to stop all this and announce a national mobilization?," Ananyan wrote.
Member of the opposition faction "I Have the Honor" Tigran Abrahamyan also notes that there are large- scale movements in different directions of the border line, and, at the same time, some of this information is disseminated by Baku itself.
"The September battles of 2022 were not predicted by the Armenian authorities, moreover, as far as I know, the advance of Azerbaijani troops was not recorded in advance or was observed in such numbers that were not considered particularly dangerous. Let me remind you that as a result of those battles, the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia was violated; according to official data, 225 people were killed, and Azerbaijani troops are still in the territories seized from the Republic of Armenia," Abrahamyan wrote on his page on the social network.
At the same time, according to him, the infrastructure work carried out by Azerbaijan on the front line gave it the opportunity to equip the front line as unnoticed as possible. Of course, this is a big problem not only for this work, but also for intelligence.
Now, these days, large-scale movements observed in different directions of the border line, most of which are becoming known from Azerbaijan, are unclear whether this is a show of force, a threat, blackmail, or whether Azerbaijan has decided to carry out an operation on one scale or another.
At least there are "working" factors for both scenarios, however, the factor of unpredictability is completely failed, which is an important indicator in such cases.
Presumably, the General Staff and the Intelligence Services have more information, but we know how risks are managed in our country and with what efficiency steps are taken, we also know this, since over the past five years thousands of victims and incalculable territorial losses have resulted from this," noted opposition member of the National Assembly.
