ArmInfo. The Azerbaijani side has not yet responded to the new proposals of the Armenian side regarding the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan. RA Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan stated on September 4 in a conversation with journalists. "According to the information I have, there is still no answer to the final proposal," Grigoryan said, answering the question of whether Azerbaijan has responded to Armenia's recent proposals for a peace treaty.
As for the unblocking of transport infrastructures, as the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized, there is a mutual opinion that the implementation of this project will have a positive impact on the entire region. <But there are many operational issues that have yet to be finalized. The agreements primarily concern infrastructure. Yes, having infrastructure from Yeraskh to Horadiz is a very good solution for Armenia and for the region as a whole, however, there are many related issues on which there is still no final agreement," the Deputy Prime Minister said.
He added that at the moment there is no agreement on the next meeting of the trilateral working group on unblocking the region's economic and transport ties, co-chaired by the vice-premiers of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia. "We do not have an agreement on the date and place of the next meeting. In the process, of course, some issues are discussed at the level of working contacts, but there is no agreement on the next meeting at the moment," Grigoryan said.
When asked by a journalist what is the reason for the passive work of the working group, the Deputy Prime Minister replied that a common background is needed to continue its work. "What kind of unblocking of transport and economic communications can we talk about when there are no conditions for stability and peace? Ultimately, the lifting of the blockade is also a peaceful process, and it will be possible only in conditions of peace. In this sense, of course, there is a certain connection with the work group's passivity," Grigoryan added.
