On August 28, Armenia appealed to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) on the protection of the rights of three civilians abducted from the Kashatagh (Lachin) corridor, with a request to apply an interim measure against Azerbaijan. This was reported by the office of Armenia's representative for international legal affairs.
"We will report further developments later," the office said.
On August 28, three young people from Artsakh were abducted by Azerbaijanis at the checkpoint during the search. They are charged with "desecration of the Azerbaijani flag." Baku announced the young people will face a 10-day jail term. This is the second case of the abduction of Artsakh citizens from the checkpoint. On July 29, 68-year-old Vagif Khachatryan, who was on his way to Armenia for a heart operation, was abducted from the same checkpoint.
