ArmInfo. The Republic of Artsakh recognizes only one corridor - Lachin, through which the republic is connected with Armenia and the outside world. Speaker of the National Assembly of Artsakh David Ishkhanyan statedon August 30 at a press conference in Stepanakert, commenting on the possibility of delivering humanitarian cargo from Azerbaijan to the republic along the Akna-Stepanakert road.
As Ishkhanyan noted, it is necessary to restore the free movement of goods and people along the Lachin corridor, which was recorded in the trilateral statement of the leaders of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan dated November 9, 2020. As for the Akna-Stepanakert road, as the speaker noted, this initiative of the Azerbaijani authorities is not new. Three weeks ago, Azerbaijan offered to use this road to Russian partners.
"Yesterday's actions by the Azerbaijani authorities, who sent humanitarian cargo to Artsakh along this road, were predictable. But discussions in Artsakh showed that this initiative is unacceptable for us," Ishkhanyan said, adding that Baku, through its actions, is trying to demonstrate to the world community that the Artsakh problem is its internal issue.
He also recalled that the Artsakh problem has received wide public attention. This is evidenced by discussions in the UN Security Council. There is also a report by former prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Luis Moreno Ocampo, which indicates the genocidal nature of the actions of the Azerbaijani authorities.
