ArmInfo. The mayors of Paris, Marseille and Strasbourg will accompany the French humanitarian convoy for the besieged Artsakh.
"On August 30, a humanitarian convoy from France, consisting of 10 heavy trucks, will leave for Kornidzor - at the entrance to Armenian Artsakh," Jean-Christophe Buisson, deputy director of the prestigious French Le Figaro magazine, wrote on his Twitter page.
He added that the cargo was collected with the assistance of the Coordinating Council of Armenian Organizations in France (CCAF).
The journalist also informed that representatives of a number of French regions will accompany the cargo. The delegation is headed by the mayor of Paris Anne_Hidalgo. The delegation will also include Vend‚e Senator BrunoRetailleau, head of the Hauts-de-France region Xavier Bertrand, vice-president of the Ile-de- France regional council Patrick Karam, the mayor of Marseille, doctor Michele Rubirola and the mayor of Strasbourg Jeanne Barseghian.
It is noteworthy that the head of the CCAF, Mourad Papazian , cannot accompany the collected cargo due to the fact that he has been declared an persona non grata in Armenia. Papazian is challenging this decision of the Armenian authorities in court.
Earlier the President of France announced the determination of Paris to provide humanitarian assistance to Artsakh. Moreover, the French media report on France's intention to initiate a draft resolution in the UN Security Council on the humanitarian situation in Artsakh.
