ArmInfo.Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov will arrive in Yerevan on August 24, a source in Armenia's industrial circles told ArmInfo.
The minister will hold a series of meetings in the government with its economic bloc. Within the framework of the visit, on Friday Reshetnikov will meet with Armenian entrepreneurs, big businessmen. According to observers, today Armenia plays one of the leading roles in the flow of so-called parallel imports and, in the context of international sanctions against Russia, is raising its status as a member state of the EAEU in terms of developing industrial cooperation here.
The share of Armenia's exports to Russia at the end of last year amounted to over 45%, having increased by 17.1% points, amounting to 1,570.3 million US dollars. According to experts, at least 24.8% of Armenia's exports (about $1.3 billion) are re-exports, without which export growth rates would be more than 2 times lower. Moreover, re-exports also contributed significantly to economic growth, accounting for about 2.6 percentage points of the 12.6% economic growth.
