ArmInfo. For several days, the Azerbaijani armed forces have been shelling the only wheat field in the Sarushen community, Askeran region, thereby depriving residents of the opportunity to have bread, Artsakh State Minister Gurgen Nersisyan wrote on his Facebook account.
He noted that Azerbaijan not only keeps the people of Artsakh under siege for more than 8 months and deprives them of ties
with the Republic of Armenia, but also, using military force or threatening it, constantly prevents the civilian population from solving their everyday problems.
The state minister said that for several days the residents have been trying to harvest from the only wheat field in the village, but people and agricultural equipment approaching the field are regularly fired upon from nearby Azerbaijani positions.
"Although every time the Russian peacekeepers stationed in Artsakh coordinate with the Azerbaijani side the date and time of harvesting in the presence of peacekeepers, nevertheless, as soon as work begins, incessant fire from various types of small arms opens, after which the work is immediately stopped, and civilians with the help of peacekeepers they are taken to a safe place," Mr Nersisyan writes.
