ArmInfo. Charge d'Affaires of Germany Erik Tintrup visited the headquarters of the EU Civil Mission (EUMA) in Yeghegnadzor yesterday.
According to the press service of the German Embassy in Armenia, the head of the mission, Markus Ritter, presented the situation in the border regions and at the entrance to the Lachin (Kashatagh) corridor.
"In the current situation, it is especially important to receive reliable information from actors operating not only in Yerevan, but also in hot spots. In this sense, Tintrup's recent meetings with representatives of the ICRC, UN bodies and civil society are also important," the diplomatic mission said in a statement.
The embassy added that EUMA, with the "Humanitarian Security" mission is doing irreplaceable work towards stability, security and regulation of relations in the South Caucasus. Germany also supports EUMA with a significant number of of its personnel; the head of the mission is also from Germany.
Germany, in accordance with the decision of the International Court of Justice, stands for the free and open movement of people through the Lachin (Kashatagh) corridor in order to make possible the livelihoods of people living in Nagorno-Karabakh," the German Embassy in Armenia said in a statement.
