ArmInfo. There is a growing concern on the part of the international community towards the humanitarian situation in Artsakh. The representative of the working group on managing the humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh, Vardan Sargsyan, told the Public Television of Armenia.
According to him, all 19 trucks currently located in Kornidzor, on the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan, are currently idle, but the international community is showing more and more attention to this problem.
Sargsyan refuted the information of Azerbaijani sources that the citizen of Artsakh Rashid Beglaryan, who was detained the day before, is connected with the transportation of humanitarian cargo. "This information is aimed at discrediting this exclusively humanitarian initiative, it is of a provocative nature, and the citizen of Artsakh has nothing to do with the "Spayka" company, which transports humanitarian cargo. All of our 19 drivers are in place, there are no problems in this regard," he said.
Touching upon the situation related to the transportation of humanitarian cargoes, Sargsyan noted that at present there have been no changes in the transportation of humanitarian cargoes. At the same time, there is a significant increase in concern and attention to this problem from the international community, in particular from the United States, various European structures, and international human rights organizations. "From France, we hear statements and calls from various political parties, which mainly call on Azerbaijan to open the Lachin corridor, which was closed almost eight months ago, and not to impede the transportation of humanitarian goods," the representative of the working group said.
According to Sargsyan, this proves that there is a clear awareness in the international community that the deepening crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh is real, and that there is a real threat to people's lives. "At the same time, we are seeing a deterioration in the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh itself, when people literally faint in lines for bread, there is an acute shortage of food, medicines and essentials, and our trucks stand still, the cargo does not reach the place appointments," he said.
Sargsyan also noted that there is still no response from the Russian peacekeepers.
