ArmInfo. The Central Electoral Commission invites the parties interested in participating in the elections to the Council of Elders of Yerevan to discussions. Discussions will be held on August 2, the CEC press service said.
According to the source, at the meeting, employees of the department of information technologies and analysis of the CEC will present new tools of the electronic system to representatives of parties and blocs. In particular, the parties will receive accounts from the CEC, through which they will be able to submit lists of candidates for the Council of Elders, and declarations of income and property to the commission. There will also be an opportunity to apply electronically for the placement of outdoor billboards with an area of more than five square meters, as well as billboards located in the metro area, public transport stops and elevators.
It should be reminded that the elections to the Council of Elders of Yerevan, consisting of 65 members, will be held on September 17. If at the end of the election one of the parties receives more than 50% of the seats, then the candidate heading its list is considered to be elected mayor. To date, there are 8 contenders for the post of mayor: Yerevan Vice Mayor Tigran Avinyan, former head of the Kentron community Viktor Mnatsakanyan, businesswoman Natalia Rotenberg, singer Ruben Hakhverdyan, head of the Luys faction of the Council of Elders David Khazhakyan, head of the board of the National Progress party Hayk Grigoryan and leader of the Country of Living (party Mane Tandilyan.
