Yerevan residents remain decision-makers, Armenia's Premier Nikol Pashinyan stated at a fundraising evening party organized by the Civil Contract party on the threshold of the elections to the Yerevan City Council. The premier is sure that Yerevan residents will make the right choice during a free, fair and democratic election.
In 2017, Safe Cities Index ranked Yerevan 88th among the world's 388 cities, whereas Yerevan ranked 14th in the first half of 2023, which is "one of the greatest achievements." Yerevan and Armenia can lay claims on being among the top-10 in the index.
Yerevan's bus fleet is being modernized on the government-allocated funds. The government is also supporting the lift replacement in residential buildings. "Yerevan is a beneficiary of the programme of 500 kindergartens and 300 schools. Since 2018, our priority task has been to solving the garbage disposal problem," Mr Pashinyan said. He also recalled sports school construction plans.
"I hope Yerevan residents will confirm their vote of confidence in our political team in 2018," Mr Pashinyan said.
The election to Yerevan's City Council is scheduled for September 17.
