ArmInfoTurkiye is interested in signing a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia as soon as possible, believing that this will ensure stability in the region surrounding them. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced after talks with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov in Ankara, TRT reports.
"Turkey supports the initiatives concerning Azerbaijan and Armenia, and calls on the international community to also support them, without making any difference between the parties. The path to stability in the region lies through the signing of a comprehensive peace treaty," the Turkish Foreign Minister said, raising in this context the topic of the so-called Zangezur corridor.
Stating that he considers the Lachin corridor as the "territory of Azerbaijan", Fidan noted that Baku has the right to take all necessary measures, which it considers right, to ensure its security and protect its sovereign rights.
However, speaking about the rights, the Turkish minister preferred not to mention the rights of 120,000 residents of Artsakh under siege, including 30,000 children.
