ArmInfo.A group of higher-school students blocked the entrance to the ICRC Yerevan office and demanded a meeting with the head of the office.
According to one of the protesters, who demand that the ICRC take all necessary steps to return Vagif Khachatryan, a resident of Artsakh abducted by Azerbaijanis, the protesters demand that the ICRC accept a group of 10 people. He also stated that they would give the organization until 17:30 to fulfill their demands.
Another protester called on the authorities of Armenia and Artsakh to stop cooperation with the ICRC, since this structure is not able to ensure the safety of citizens. "Baku can declare anyone a criminal, kidnap and take away. If the ICRC knew that he might be hindered, he was obliged to turn to the international security forces with a request to ensure his safe movement and not stop the convoy. This is determined by the conventions, such an experience took place in many countries of the world, including in Niger, Sudan, where the ICRC ensured the lives and safety of civilians by these methods, even sacrificing their own lives," the protester emphasized.
Vagif Khachatryan, a 68-year-old resident of Nagorno-Karabakh, was abducted and illegally detained by Azerbaijani authorities at the checkpoint on the Lachin corridor.
