ArmInfo. The hardships suffered by the Armenians for the liberation of Nagorno-Karabakh are not at all grounds for scolding the Karabakh people and accusing them of ingratitude, laziness or parasitism. This is how the first President of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan reacted to the criticism voiced by current Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan at a press conference on July 25 addressed to the people of Artsakh.
"It is highly questionable who gave more to whom: Armenia to Karabakh or Karabakh to Armenia? The very negative attitude towards one or two dozen Karabakh officials and big businessmen who have settled down in Armenia is not such a reason. Not only our compatriots in Armenia, but also in Artsakh have suffered and are suffering from their immorality and lawlessness to the same extent," the first president of Armenia noted.
At the same time, he stated that Armenia and Artsakh are the common homeland of Armenians, whose citizens equally share victories and defeats, as well as hardships and sufferings.
"At the same time, we should not forget that the people of Karabakh live on the front lines of the Armenian-Azerbaijani confrontation, under the constant threat of border clashes and shelling, and therefore perceive realities more acutely, which requires exceptional tact from Armenians in Armenia," Ter- Petrosyan said, posting a photo of his visit to Nagorno-Karabakh in 1995 under his publication.
It should be noted that on July 25, during a press conference for the media, Nikol Pashinyan criticized the people of Artsakh. The reason for this was the question of a woman from Artsakh, who criticized the wife of the Prime Minister Anna Hakobyan for posting a photo with food on social networks when people are starving in the NKR.
