Lawyers in Armenia, Artsakh call on international community to exert  pressure on Azerbaijan to prevent humanitarian disaster in Artsakh 

ArmInfo. The lawyers of Armenia and Artsakh called on the international community to actively support the people of the NKR in lifting the blockade and preventing a  humanitarian catastrophe, including by condemning the genocidal  policy of the Azerbaijani authorities.

According to the press service of the Chamber of Advocates of  Armenia, the corresponding call was made following the results of the  joint meeting of the Council of the Chamber of Advocates of the  Republic of Armenia and the Council of the Chamber of Advocates of  the Republic of Artsakh.

The rector of the RA Academy of Lawyers, the head of the Office of  the Public Defender of the Chamber of Advocates of the Republic of  Armenia and the head of the Office of the Public Defender of the  Republic of Artsakh also participated in the meeting with an advisory  vote. During the meeting, the exclusively tragic situation that has  developed in the Republic of Artsakh was discussed.

"The participants of the meeting stated that the Republic of Artsakh  was in a complete blockade, as a result of which Artsakh was cut off  from the outside world. As a result of comparing the facts and taking  into account international legal norms, the Councils of the Bars of  Artsakh and Armenia issued a joint statement in which they directly  call: Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Council of  European Bars and Law Societies, International and domestic  structures involved in the protection of human rights, the Federal  Chamber of Lawyers of the Russian Federation (as a partner structure  of a state party to a tripartite agreement), partner bar associations  and associations of other states to actively support to the people of  Artsakh in lifting the blockade and preventing a humanitarian  catastrophe, including by condemning the genocidal policy of the  Azerbaijani authorities," the press service of the RA Chamber of  Advocates told ArmInfo.

120,000 residents of Artsakh are on the verge of starvation due to  the siege staged by Azerbaijan. The civilized international  community, in pursuit of energy resources, has forgotten about  universal human rights, democracy, and international law in general,  not noticing the terror perpetrated by Azerbaijan against Artsakh for  8 months.

On July 26, Armenia sent 360 tons of humanitarian aid to Artsakh,  however, since yesterday evening, about 20 trucks have been in  Kornidzor and are waiting for permission to pass through the  Kashatagh corridor.  The process is being monitored, including by  representatives of the EU monitoring mission in Armenia.

So far, negotiations between Russian peacekeepers and the Azerbaijani  side have not yielded results, the enemy side continues the criminal  blockade of Artsakh. Azerbaijan stated that let the people of Artsakh  not hope for the operation of the Stepanakert-Goris road, the game is  over! Baku assured that Armenia in Brussels agreed to use the  Stepanakert-Akna (Agdam) road. The press service of the RA Prime  Minister called this information a lie. The Armenian Foreign Ministry  also stated that the cargoes with humanitarian aid would stand in  Kornidzor, at the entrance to the corridor connecting Armenia and  Artsakh until Azerbaijan opens the road.
