ArmInfo. On July 26, relatives and friends of the missing servicemen again gathered in front of the building of the President of Armenia, demanding a meeting with RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The action was initiated by the parents and relatives of the soldiers of one of the military units of Etchmiadzin, better known as the military unit of chemists.
On October 21, 2020, they were transferred to Nagorno-Karabakh to carry out a combat mission, but due to an incorrect order, they were all surrounded and are now listed as missing.
Relatives and friends of the soldiers have been trying for 2 years and 9 months to get information about the fate of their sons. They noted that every time the same answer is heard in the power structures, they say, work is underway, which, however, does not give any result.
A week ago, the parents of the servicemen also gathered outside the presidential administration building, insisting on a meeting with the head of the Armenian government. They blocked traffic on Baghramyan Street, but, having received assurances that the RA Prime Minister would receive them, they unblocked the road. Prior to this, relatives of the soldiers held a similar action in front of the NSS building, demanding a meeting with the head of the National Security Service Armen Abazyan, but the latter did not accept them, which was the reason for their demand to meet with RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
According to one of the protesters, a week ago, one of the police generals promised to organize a meeting with the head of government, asking for time to resolve the issue with the agenda. <But a week has passed, and we realized that the issue is not being resolved, and for this reason we are here again, and we will stay in this place until the Prime Minister receives us. We intend to raise two questions: the fate of our guys and the trial of those responsible. Due to the illiterate command and control of the troops, 35 of our guys went missing. But it is interesting that the commander of the unit was not even arrested. Perhaps he has family relations with the head of government. We have no other issues, and they must finally be resolved>, - said the participant of the action.
It should be noted that during the 44-day war in Artsakh, the Armenian side lost 3812 people, 217 citizens are considered missing, 141 servicemen and civilians were returned from Azerbaijani captivity.
