ArmInfo.A rally in support of the people of Nagorno Karabakh is being held in Yerevan, before the UN office. The rally was organized by the Batsum (Opening) civil movement.
The protesters delivered a humanitarian cargo to the building of the mission, demanding from the international organization to deliver it to the needy people of Artsakh in the conditions of a severe blockade by Azerbaijan. "We ask you to urgently deliver the cargo through the Lachin corridor to the Republic of Artsakh," one of the protesters said, addressing the acting UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia Niels Scott.
The protester added that the movement is ready to provide the UN office with the necessary assistance in inventorying the entire cargo and its delivery to Artsakh.
As another participant of the action noted, all this is done for compatriots in Artsakh within the framework of international humanitarian law. He added that if the issue is not resolved, the participants in the movement will close the buildings of all those bodies that are required to take steps to settle the situation.
It should be noted that the Lachin corridor connecting Armenia with Artsakh has been closed since December last year. On April 23, the Azerbaijani authorities blocked the bridge over the Khakari River and set up a checkpoint.
