Armenia`s Prosecutor General launches initiative to separate two  institutions - freedom of speech from hate speech

ArmInfo. RA Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan  took the initiative to try to teach prosecutors and investigators to  separate two institutions in their practice: freedom of speech from  hate speech.  To this end, the Prosecutor General organized a meeting  of representatives of the Prosecutor's Office and the Investigative  Committee with ECHR Judge Armen Harutyunyan.

During the meeting, the need to distinguish between these legal  institutions in the context of the case law, standards and philosophy  of the ECHR was discussed., the stable precedent approaches  established in the ECHR jurisprudence regarding the above-mentioned  institutions were discussed in a question-and-answer format meeting,  as well as the specifics of the interpretation of freedom of speech  in the context of abuse of rights were addressed. As a result of the  meeting, an agreement was reached to continue meetings in this  format.
