Ambassador Alexander Lukashevich, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), stated this at a special meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council, convened on the initiative of Armenia.
"We are ready to organize a trilateral meeting of foreign ministers in Moscow to discuss the implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level and agree on a peace treaty with a subsequent Russian-Azerbaijani-Armenian summit for its signing in Moscow," the representative of the Russian Federation said.
Speaking about the illegal blocking of the Lachin corridor by Azerbaijan, he noted that it must be opened. "Immediate measures must be taken to open the Lachin corridor, resume the unhindered movement of citizens, vehicles and goods in both directions, as well as to provide the region with energy supply," Lukashevich stressed.
In turn, Katherine Brucker, the Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Mission to the OSCE, stressed that the United States welcomes the continuation of high-level meetings between Armenia and Azerbaijan, including the last trilateral meeting in Brussels on July 15, as well as a meeting of foreign ministers on June 27-29 in Washington. , she said, addressing the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan.
The American diplomat noted that Washington still believes that efforts to achieve a stable and dignified peace agreement, normalize relations, demarcate borders, open transport and communication links, ensure the rights and security of all residents of the Nagorno-Karabakh region are in the interests of all interested parties.
She also noted that the OSCE's comprehensive approach to security, based on common principles and commitments, can contribute to prosperity and security in both Armenia and Azerbaijan within the framework of a comprehensive peace agreement.
