ArmInfo. It was with the support of the West that Aliyev organized the blockade of Artsakh Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev organized the blockade of Artsakh. Political analyst Stepan Danielyan wrote on his Facebook page.
The expert advised those who conduct sit-ins to at least hold them in front of the British, US and EU embassies.
"Of course, there are no emotions and conscience in big politics, but there are interests. And Aliyev organized the blockade of Artsakh with the support of the West, the EU representative (Toivo Klaar - ed. note) also uses the term "Khankendi" (Azerbaijani name for Stepanakert - ed. note), and they want open the road from Aghdam (Akna - Armenian), they also forced their agent in Armenia to recognize the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan in Prague, but there is one subtlety," the political analyst said.
In this context, Danielyan recalled that the West stands from the position of a watershed between values, democracy and authoritarianism, adding that at least this lie will be exposed, and all responsibility will fall on them.
"It will be a lesson for our people for the future that these values are a lie in international relations. Let's remember that when Artsakh said that the seven regions are a security zone, the West said that there is no such danger, they said that they do not accept the solution of the problem by force. But they accept it when it comes to their interests," he added, expressing his conviction that the only solution to the problem in today's realities could be sit-ins in front of their diplomatic missions with many tents.
"In a word, something needs to be done," he summed up.
Since December 12, 2022, Azerbaijan, under a pseudo ecological pretext, has blocked the only road connecting Artsakh with Armenia and the outside world. In parallel with the siege, Azerbaijan deprived Artsakh of gas and electricity. Essential products were delivered to the NKR through the ICRC and Russian peacekeepers. Then, already on April 23, the enemy side established a checkpoint in the corridor connecting Artsakh with the outside world, contrary to the obligations under the tripartite statement of 2020, and already on June 15 stopped the passage of humanitarian cargo in Artsakh. The population of Nagorno-Karabakh faces the threat of starvation against the backdrop of the inaction of the international community.
On July 14, protests began in Artsakh. On July 17, Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan announced that he was joining the sit-in on Renaissance Square and gave the international community a week to resolve the humanitarian situation around Artsakh.
