Armenia`s authorities missed unique opportunities only to retain  power - Arman Tatoyan 

ArmInfo.The Armenian authorities, during and after the war, due to their nightmarish fears  of losing their own political interests and positions, made fatal mistakes that destroyed the country's security, seriously weakened the position of the state in the international arena.  

Meanwhile, the Azerbaijani armed forces received a "legitimate" opportunity to  fortify themselves in the vicinity of our villages and cities, on the  roads, brazenly subjecting our compatriots to hardships, Armenia's  former Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan wrote in a Facebook post.

In this vein, the human rights activist stated that the Armenian  government, instead of implementing international mechanisms, "lay  down" under the international political and military structures,  clearly knowing that Azerbaijan would resolve issues there in its  favor, ignoring that "opposing" our issues to these structures would  only strengthen Azerbaijan.

"In addition, in an organized way, from the highest level to the  community structures of her own political team, she conscientiously  denied reports of Azerbaijani crimes, rehabilitated Azerbaijani  criminals, fought to the death with everyone who spoke about these  crimes. Frightened that this would cause people's discontent with  their by the government that they would be seen as weak in the eyes  of the people, and often guided by the principle "No one can tell us  what to do, we know what is right."

"The only important thing is that they held their positions, it  doesn't matter that as a result of these actions, Azerbaijan only got  stronger and gained advantageous positions for aggression against  Armenia and Artsakh, the entire people faced devastating security  threats.  "As a result, important international mechanisms were not  implemented and exceptional opportunities were missed. And in the  end, everyone is to blame - be it international organizations, other  countries or other parties, everyone except themselves,"
