ArmInfo. From June 15 this year, the people of Artsakh are facing the threat of physical violence and have been living off internal resources for a month now. State Minister of the Republic of Artsakh Gurgen Nersisyan stated on July 14 at the Renaissance Square in Stepanakert.
<Through joint efforts, we tried to keep the situation in such a way that the consequences of the blockade would have a minimal impact on the people of Artsakh. Hoping that in a short time Armenia, Russia and the international community will take decisive steps to prevent a catastrophe, but they just took the role of outside observers>, he said.
The Minister of State announced that the current situation is dire, noting that every next day will be worse than the previous one. He said that there are already numerous healthcare sector problems, many communities are deprived of access to drinking water, residents of isolated villages have become hostages, with all the hardships that come with it, children in kindergartens practically do not eat, and patients in medical institutions are given a limited amount of food.
Nersisyan also drew attention to the fact that in the near future the movement of intercommunal public transport will stop, ambulances will stop working, and people will have difficulty accessing medicines and medical care.
<And now I want to turn to international actors, Armenia and Russia. What are you waiting for? So that we have human corpses on this square, so that you would react? Want a replay of the tragic death of two children days earlier to sober you up? Enough! For the third year already, the people of Artsakh have been patiently enduring various kinds of suffering, mothers and sisters, hiding tears, stare into the eyes of their children, and, suffocating from the burden of responsibility, steadily choose their Motherland and Artsakh>, he stressed.
Artsakh has been under Azerbaijani blockade since December 12, 2022, as a result of which it is deprived of gas, electricity and basic necessities. From June 15 this year, Azerbaijan blocked the movement of the International Committee of the Red Cross, which carried out a humanitarian mission to transport patients from Artsakh to Armenia and supply essentials. All this is happening against the backdrop of the inaction of the civilized international community.
