ArmInfo. The issue of changing the national emblem of Armenia has been formed, but there are no correct work processes in this direction. Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia Zhanna Andreasyan stated during a briefing on July 13.
She noted that it was necessary to think about the details that needed to be changed. In this regard, the Minister attached importance to discussions with the expert community, which opened this discussion many years ago. Andreasyan stressed that all state symbols are the face of the state, and, accordingly, any changes must be well thought out - "it is necessary to understand what we are changing and why."
When asked by media representatives whether such a step is not a rejection of their history, the minister objected: "We do not and cannot abandon our history. But we need to understand what our attitude is towards today. And our state symbols should reflect our current state>, she said.
It should be noted that according to the latest survey In Nikol? Veritas by the MPG consulting company (Marketing Professional Group - the exclusive representative of the GALLUP International Association in Armenia), 88.3% of respondents noted that they do not see the need to change the state symbols of Armenia, only 8% see the need to introduce changes in state symbols, another 3.7% found it difficult to answer.
In June of this year, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, answering a question from the opposition, addressed the topic of the national emblem and rhetorically asked what does our current emblem have to do with the republic established in 1991. <Our argument is as follows: should real Armenia serve historical Armenia, or should historical Armenia serve real Armenia? And this is the political and epoch-making question to which we must give an answer>, he noted.
