ArmInfo. Armenia's Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan hosted a delegation led by Mr Achyuta Samanta, a member of Indian Parliament and educationist.
Ms Andreasyan emphasized the importance of friendly relations between the two countries and the prospects for cooperation, especially in the field of education.
During the meeting, the possibilities of developing interuniversity cooperation were discussed, in particular, in terms of the implementation of exchange programs for students, researchers and teachers, joint educational initiatives.
The head of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia spoke about the reforms carried out in the field of higher education, emphasizing in this context that the number of Indian students in Armenia is quite large and there are opportunities for developing inter-university relations.
The cooperation between the two countries in such areas as information technology and medical professions was also touched upon.
Prof. Samanta spoke in detail about the activities of advanced centers for vocational training, Kalinga University of Industrial Technology and the University of Social Sciences.
Ms Andreasyan drew the attention of the Indian MP to the fact that the students of Nagorno-Karabakh cannot continue and start their studies in Armenia as a result of blocking the Kashatagh (Lachin) corridor.
"We expect you to raise your voice in support of the full realization of the right of students to education," the Armenian Minister of Education said.
Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed during the meeting.
