ArmInfo. The Armenian world is not fully aware of the situation in Artsakh or is trying to render all the assistance it needs - not because 120,000 people are living there, but because "these are our roots," former state minister of Artsakh Ruben Vardanyan stated at the 6th international medical congress "Diaspora-Artsakh-Armenia."
According to him, the problem is that this ideology is not being pushed forward.
According to him, Armenia's authorities are pushing forward such arguments as "Artsakh is our headache and if we get rid of it we will enjoy peace."
"Arguments are being put forward that we do not need Artsakh, because this is a headache and as part of Azerbaijan it will become a diaspora like Javakhk or Glendale. And to this are added new threats related to our national values: Mount Ararat, the Nemesis monument, all the men were deserters during the war, the women are unhappy, and the church is bad. We have very serious problems on this side. The diaspora also has its own problems around the world. In other words, we have a situation where Artsakh, being in such a difficult internal situation, does not have the feeling that the Armenian world understands the current situation," he said.
In this vein, he recalled that the first school of Mesrop Mashtots was opened in the Amaras monastery in Artsakh, and this is one of the few places where the Armenian identity has been preserved.
Vardanyan also believes that the 44-day war had a great shock effect on the Armenian society, people are in such a position that they are disunited and do not want to put up with the situation.
"We have a blockade, which every day complicates the situation. We have medical problems, food problems, fuel problems. The blockade is the worst state of war, from which it is dangerous to leave. But, people continue to live their daily lives, they do not understand that it is dangerous and the opposition is the only way out that can save us, and on the other hand, the blockade has one good side, that we are all in the same boat, we are all equal in blockade," he said, adding that the war is not over, it continues.
"Azerbaijan is waging war against us in 14 ways. They consistently do everything to make people here despair, disappointed and stop believing that they can live in their homeland," Vardanyan summed up, recalling the implementation of more than 70 different kinds of projects in Artsakh.
