ArmInfo. The delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of India visited the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex.
According to the press service of the Museum-Institute of the Armenian Genocide, the guests were introduced to the history of the establishment of the memorial complex, as well as the history of the three khachkars placed in the Tsitsernakaberd area in memory of the Armenians who died in the massacres in the cities of Sumgait, Kirovabad (Gandzak) and Baku in the last century organised by the Azerbaijani government, and the stories of the five freedom fighters buried in front of Hushapat during the Artsakh war, emphasizing the connection between what happened and the Armenian Genocide.
Members of the delegation from India laid flowers at the Eternal Fire and observed a minute's silence in memory of the innocent martyrs of the Armenian Genocide.
The guests also toured the Armenian Genocide Museum, where, accompanied by the Deputy Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum Lusine Abrahamyan, they got acquainted with the permanent and temporary exhibitions, after which they made an entry in the memory book of honored guests.
